Property-wide transformation introduces refreshed guestrooms, public spaces, dining and meeting venues

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (October 28, 2026) – Salt Lake City Marriott University Park has completed a $12 million property-wide renovation, introducing updates throughout the hotel’s guestrooms, public spaces, dining outlets, fitness center and meeting and event venues. Owned by Highline Hospitality Partners and managed by StepStone Hospitality, the renovation marks a significant investment in the property and its position within Salt Lake City’s growing hospitality market.

Located at 480 Wakara Way adjacent to the University of Utah and Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City Marriott University Park offers convenient access to downtown Salt Lake City while providing views of the surrounding mountains and city. The renovation brings a fresh, modern look to the hotel while taking advantage of its setting and location near some of the city’s leading universities, medical institutions, attractions and event venues.

“This renovation represents exactly the type of investment we look to make in our properties; one that meaningfully improves the guest experience while strengthening the hotel’s position in its market,” said Chuck Pomerantz, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Highline Hospitality Partners. “Salt Lake City continues to attract a strong mix of business, university, medical, leisure and group travel, and we saw an opportunity to create a hotel experience that better reflects both the energy of the market and the incredible setting surrounding University Park.”

The hotel’s newly renovated guestrooms and suites feature updated furnishings, new beds and headboards, chaise lounges and refreshed bathrooms with new showers, vanities and lighting. King accommodations feature walk-in showers, while double-queen rooms offer tubs. Guests also have access to the hotel’s renovated M Club, offering an exclusive space to work, recharge or relax during their stay.

The renovation extends throughout the hotel’s public spaces, including a redesigned lobby and atrium, an updated fitness center and refreshed meeting and event venues. The hotel offers more than 16,000 square feet of flexible event space, including the renovated Grand Ballroom, Creekside Ballroom and amphitheater, along with indoor and outdoor settings for corporate meetings, university events, weddings and social gatherings.

A centerpiece of the renovation is Sky Brook Kitchen + Bar, the hotel’s newly redesigned restaurant and lounge. The concept serves elevated American comfort fare alongside craft cocktails and local spirits in a relaxed setting designed for hotel guests and the surrounding community. The property also features a full-service Starbucks®.

“Completing a renovation of this scale gives our team an exciting opportunity to reintroduce the hotel to both longtime guests and new visitors,” said Michael Broadhurst, Chief Operating Officer of StepStone Hospitality. “From the guestrooms and meeting spaces to the new dining experience, every update gives us new ways to serve our guests while making the most of the hotel’s unique location near the University of Utah and everything Salt Lake City has to offer.”

To celebrate the completion of the renovation, Salt Lake City Marriott University Park is offering a limited-time Celebration Rate that includes a $10 daily food and beverage credit and 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy® bonus points per night. The offer is available for a limited time and provides guests with an opportunity to experience the newly renovated property while enjoying additional benefits during their stay.
