Hotels, Companies, and Executives Honored at ALIS

Los Angeles, CA – The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) announced its winners for the prestigious ALIS Awards. Among these finalists are hotels, companies, and executives who are responsible for the most influential hotel industry deals in 2022. The winners were announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, during the main stage morning plenary session at ALIS at the JW Marriott/Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. Nominees for the awards are evaluated based on outstanding business performance in various industry sectors.

1 Hotel and Embassy Suites – Nashville, TN was named Development of the Year (Full Service) 2022 (includes branded and unbranded – luxury and upper upscale chain scales, and casinos). Finalists in this category also included The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad – New York, NY and The Tampa EDITION – Tampa, FL.

citizenM Chicago Downtown – Chicago, IL was named Development of the Year (Select/Limited Service) 2022 (includes branded and unbranded – upscale, upper midscale, midscale, and economy chain scale). Finalists in this category also included Arlo Wynwood – Miami, FL, Radio Hotel – New York, NY, and YOTEL/YOTELPAD Miami – Miami, FL.

Waldorf Astoria Washington DC – Washington, DC was named Single Asset Transaction of the Year (Over US$25M) 2022. Finalists in this category also included Sheraton Boston Hotel – Boston, MA and Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel – New York, NY.

Old Santa Fe Inn – Santa Fe, NM was named Single Transaction of the Year (US$25M & Under) 2022. Finalists in this category also included Holiday Inn Express Hilton Head Island – Hilton Head Island, SC and Residence Inn Atlanta Buckhead/Lenox Park – Atlanta, GA.

Watermark Lodging Trust acquired by Brookfield Asset Management was named Merger & Acquisition of the Year 2022. Finalists in this category also included the 49% Stake in Noble Investment Group acquired by Host Hotels & Resorts and Radisson Hotel Americas acquired by Choice Hotels International.

Teague Hunter, President & CEO, Hunter Hotel Advisors was named Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year 2022. Finalists in this category also included Larry Kwon, Managing Director, Moelis & Company and Gregory Rumpel, Senior Managing Director, JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group.
