LONG BEACH, Calif. (December 10, 2025) – Ensemble proudly announces that Kristi Allen, Executive Vice President of Hotels, has been appointed Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CHLA) for 2026. Allen will lead a 33-member board that represents California’s $18 billion hotel industry and its more than 235,000 employees statewide.
Allen’s appointment is a significant milestone, both for her personally and for Ensemble as a company. It reflects Ensemble’s expanding leadership role in shaping the future of hospitality in California and beyond.
“Kristi’s appointment to Chair of CHLA is a testament to her expertise, vision, and the deep respect she commands across the industry,” said Michael Moskowitz, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Ensemble. “Her leadership at Ensemble has been instrumental to our growth into a premier hospitality management company, and we’re excited to see her bring the same level of strategic focus and passion to the statewide stage.”
As Chair, Allen will help guide CHLA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of more than 6,000 lodging properties across California. These efforts include addressing key legislative and regulatory challenges such as burdensome taxation, increasing legislative mandates, and the rising wave of predatory litigation that threatens hotel operations.
“Predatory lawsuits, onerous taxes, and unsustainable regulatory mandates do harm to our hotels, their employees, and our future,” said Kristi Allen, Executive Vice President of Hotels at Ensemble. “These pressures remind us why CHLA’s role as a unified, influential advocate for hospitality is essential and why engagement from every member matters.”
Allen has been a transformative force at Ensemble, where she oversees a growing hospitality portfolio generating more than $200 million in annual revenue. Since leading the formal launch of Ensemble’s hospitality management division in 2019, Allen has stewarded its rapid expansion from a single property—Hotel Maya in Long Beach—to owning and operating a collection of 14 hotels across 12 markets in five states while partnering with top brands such as Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt. Under her leadership, Ensemble has remained committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting its 1,200 hospitality team members.
She is past Board member of The Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau, is past Chair of Downtown Long Beach Alliance, is past Chair of the Chamber Board of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and former member of the City of Long Beach Economic Development Commission. Allen also held Board positions on the Pacific Gateway Workforce Development Agency, The International City Theatre, Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Rancho Los Cerritos.
As Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association, Allen succeeds Cormac O’Modhrain, Group Vice President of Asset Management at Sunstone Hotel Investors, who now serves as Immediate Past Chair. She is joined in 2026 by CHLA Vice Chair Tom Patton of Ramada by Wyndham Santa Barbara, and Secretary-Treasurer David Craig of Pebblebrook Hotel Trust.
