(CHICAGO; December 12, 2017) — Chicago’s The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, welcomes winter with the debut of its new outdoor iceless curling rink, now open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., weather-permitting. A new, outdoor alternative for the winter months, curling fans and novices can warm up next to one of The Gwen’s outdoor fireplaces and heat lamps, while sipping on a new menu of winter cocktails. Originated in Scotland, curling is a winter sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice towards a target. Two or four players can play at a time, and rounds usually last around 30 minutes. Admission for The Gwen Curling Rink is $25 per person, which includes a choice of one new craft winter cocktail and 30 minutes of curling play time.

Drink options include the Lux Chocolate, a hot chocolate cocktail with Grand Marnier, topped with whipped cream; and the Tea-Groni, a classic negroni infused with rishi tea and cinnamon, served warm. The new menu also features two new large-format cocktails, including the Sugar & Spice mulled wine and Gwengow Rum Punch.
